Switching Between Monthly and Annual Plans

Change Your Billing Frequency

You can switch between monthly ($9.99/month) and annual ($4.99/month, billed as $59.88/year) billing at any time. Here is how it works.

How to Switch Plans

1. Go to Settings in the PatternPilotAI app
2. Click "Manage Subscription" to open the Stripe Customer Portal
3. Click "Change Plan" or "Update Plan"
4. Select the billing frequency you want (monthly or annual)
5. Review the summary showing the new price and any prorated adjustments
6. Confirm the change

The switch takes effect based on the direction of the change, as described below.

Switching from Monthly to Annual (Upgrade)

When you switch from monthly to annual:

• Savings apply immediately. You start paying the annual rate right away
• Proration is calculated. Any unused time from your current monthly billing period is credited toward the annual price
• You are charged the annual price minus the prorated credit for unused monthly time
• Your new billing cycle starts now and renews in 12 months

Example:

• You are halfway through your monthly billing period ($9.99/month)
• Unused monthly credit: approximately $5.00
• Annual price: $59.88
• You pay approximately $54.88 today ($59.88 minus the $5.00 credit)
• Your next renewal is in 12 months

Switching from Annual to Monthly (Downgrade)

When you switch from annual to monthly:

• The change takes effect at your next renewal date. You keep your annual plan and pricing until the current annual period ends
• No immediate charge. Nothing changes today
• At renewal, instead of being charged the annual rate, you will be charged $9.99 for the first month of your new monthly billing cycle
• Monthly billing continues from that point forward, renewing every month

This approach ensures you get the full value of the annual plan you already paid for.

Important Details

No Feature Changes

Both monthly and annual plans include the exact same Pro features. The only difference is the billing frequency and total cost. Switching plans does not affect your access to any features.

You Can Switch Multiple Times

There is no limit to how many times you can switch between plans. However, each switch is processed through Stripe, so the proration calculations apply each time.

Tax Considerations

Prices shown may not include applicable taxes. Any sales tax or VAT is calculated based on your location and added to the displayed price during checkout.

Billing Date Changes

When you switch plans, your billing date may change. After switching, check the Stripe Customer Portal to see your new billing date.

When to Choose Annual

The annual plan saves you 50% compared to monthly billing. Consider annual if:

• You plan to use PatternPilotAI for more than a few months
• You want to lock in the lower rate
• You prefer fewer billing transactions

When to Choose Monthly

Monthly billing offers more flexibility. Consider monthly if:

• You want to try Pro before committing to a year
• You prefer the ability to cancel without a long-term commitment
• You are unsure how long you will use the service

Either way, you can switch at any time, so there is no pressure to make the "right" choice upfront.
