Changing Your Email or Password

Update Your Account Information

You can change your name, email address, and password from the Settings page. Here is how to update each one.

Accessing Settings

Click on your profile icon or name in the top-right corner of the app, then select "Settings". You can also navigate directly to the Settings page from the app sidebar.

Changing Your Name

1. In the Profile section, you will see your current name
2. Click the name field and type your new name
3. Click "Save Changes"
4. Your name will be updated across the app

Changing Your Email Address

Changing your email requires verification to protect your account:

1. In the Email section, click "Change Email"
2. Enter your new email address
3. Enter your current password to confirm the change
4. Click "Update Email"
5. A verification email will be sent to your new email address
6. Open the verification email and click the confirmation link
7. Your email is updated once you confirm

Until you confirm the new email, your old email address remains active. If you do not receive the verification email, check your spam or junk folder.

Important Notes About Email Changes

• Your email is your login identifier. After the change, use the new email to sign in
• Any existing sessions will continue to work until you log out
• If you use magic link login, the links will be sent to your new email after confirmation

Changing Your Password

1. In the Password section, click "Change Password"
2. Enter your current password to verify your identity
3. Enter your new password
4. Enter the new password again in the confirmation field to make sure it matches
5. Click "Update Password"

Password Requirements

• Minimum 8 characters
• We recommend using a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
• Avoid using passwords you have used on other websites

Tips for a Strong Password

• Use a password manager to generate and store strong, unique passwords
• Avoid dictionary words, personal information, or common patterns like "123456"
• The longer the password, the more secure it is. Consider a passphrase of 4 or more random words

Forgot Your Password?

If you cannot remember your current password and need to reset it:

1. Log out of your account
2. Go to the login page
3. Click "Forgot password?"
4. Enter your email address
5. Check your email for a password reset link
6. Click the link and create a new password

The reset link expires after a limited time for security purposes. If it expires, request a new one.
