How to Upload Your First Chart

Upload a Chart and Get Results in Seconds

PatternPilotAI analyzes chart screenshots using artificial intelligence to detect patterns, suggest entry and exit points, and provide risk management calculations. Here is how to upload your first chart.

Step 1: Navigate to New Analysis

From your dashboard, click the "New Analysis" button. You can also find it in the main navigation under "Analyze."

Step 2: Upload Your Chart Screenshot

You have two options for uploading:

  • Drag and drop your chart image directly onto the upload area
  • Click to browse and select a file from your computer

Supported File Formats

PatternPilotAI accepts the following image formats:

  • PNG
  • JPG / JPEG
  • WebP

The maximum file size is 10MB. Charts from any charting platform work well, including TradingView, MetaTrader, Thinkorswim, and others.

For the best analysis results, fill in the optional fields:

  • Ticker Symbol - The stock, crypto, or forex pair shown in the chart (e.g., AAPL, BTC/USD, EUR/USD)
  • Timeframe - The chart timeframe (e.g., 1-hour, 4-hour, daily, weekly)
  • Trading Style - Your preferred approach (e.g., day trading, swing trading, position trading)

Adding this context helps the AI provide more relevant and accurate analysis. While these fields are optional, we recommend filling them in whenever possible.

Step 4: Click Analyze

Click the "Analyze" button to submit your chart. The AI will process your image and return results.

Step 5: Review Your Results

Results typically appear in under 5 seconds. Your analysis includes:

  • Pattern Detection - What chart pattern was identified and the confidence level
  • Entry and Exit Points - Suggested entry price, take-profit targets, and stop-loss level
  • Risk Management - Position sizing recommendations and risk grade
  • Technical Indicators - Support and resistance levels, volume analysis, and trend direction
  • Trade Plan Summary - A plain-language summary of the overall recommendation

Tips for Better Results

  • Use clean, high-resolution screenshots with clearly visible price data
  • Avoid charts with too many overlayed indicators, as they can obscure the price action
  • Make sure the timeframe is visible in the chart or specify it in the optional fields
  • Crop your screenshot to focus on the relevant price action area

Your analysis is saved to your history, so you can revisit it at any time from your dashboard.
